Shorter College receives $125,000 grant
February 25, 2010 - Harold Newman, president of Shorter College in Rome, left, accepts a check for $125,000 from Arnold Johnson, outgoing chairman of the Georgia Baptist Health Care Ministry Foundation. Newman was one of 51 recipients from among 107 applicants for grants totaling $3,257,283. The grants were presented at the Baptist Missions and Ministry Center in Duluth on Feb. 18. The funds will be used to help purchase equipment for the college's nursing program's simulation lab. Participating in the ceremony was Ken Fincher, Shorter's vice president for institutional advancement.
