Shorter College Theatre Department to perform Shakespeare classic, “Romeo and Juliet”

February 22, 2010 - The Shorter College Theatre Department will perform “Romeo and Juliet” February 25-28 in the college’s Callaway Theatre.

Widely known as one of Shakespeare’s most popular works, the play is a tragedy about two young lovers whose untimely deaths ultimately unite their feuding families. Directed by Ben Reigel, assistant professor of theatre, the production will feature a 25-member cast.

Cast members include Katie Beth Stubbs, Michael Lindsey, Zach Vandever, Kristina Kennedy, Elizabeth Telford, Danny Mathis, Kathy Newman, Audrey Crocker, Hannah Strickland, Josh South, Jamel Booth, Sarah Beth Moseley, Chris Vizurraga, John Carucci, Jennifer Spradley, Jonathan Altman, Elizabeth MacDonnell, Koby Parker, Charlie Wright, Sam Gresham, Aerial Gill, Cara Lee, Laura Renfro, Ellen Buice and Wednesday Harrell.

Tickets are $12 general admission and $8 for senior adults and students. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Shorter College Box Office at (706) 233-7288. The show opens nightly at 7: 30 p.m. with the exception of a Sunday, Feb. 28, matinee at 2 p.m.
