Shorter College Theatre Department to present “Still Life with Iris”
November 12 - The Shorter College Theatre Department is excited to debut its fall play, Still Life with Iris. Opening on Nov. 18 the play is a fantastical adventure of a little girl’s search for home. Iris, the play’s main character, lives on the island of Nocturno where the residents’ memories are kept in their coats - not in their minds. Rulers of the island take Iris away to be their daughter and remove her PastCoat, leaving her with no memories of her past.
The cast will include Shorter students Sarah Brackett, Elizabeth Telford, Charlie Wright, Jennifer Holcombe, Ben Isabel, Sam Gresham, Katie Beth Stubbs, Kristina Kennedy, Mariel Villarreal, Callie Edwards, Chris Lewis, Hannah Strickland, Koby Parker and Chris Vizurraga.
“This is a wonderful cast,” said Ben Reigel, assistant professor of theatre and the play’s director. “They've been working so hard on and off stage, and they have also designed and created all of their own costumes for the show. They look great!”

The play will be performed Nov. 18-21 at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, Nov. 22 at 2 p.m. in the Callaway Theatre located in the Minor Fine Arts building. Tickets are $12 for general admission and $8 for senior citizens and students. For tickets, call the Shorter College box office at 706-233-7288.
