Shorter College students receive $1,000 scholarship

Justin Maxey and Thomas Williams

November 5 - Two Shorter College seniors recently received a $1,000 scholarship from the Atlanta Alumni Chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon.

Students Justin Maxey, an organ performance major from Winder, and Thomas Williams, a piano performance major from Temple, were both awarded with the maximum amount of scholarship money offered by the Mu Phi Epsilon chapter. Mu Phi Epsilon is an international music fraternity with roots that trace back to 1903.

The Atlanta Alumni Chapter annually hosts this scholarship competition in which students are judged based on their performance. The vocal and instrumental competition is open to students who are members of their respective college’s chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon.
