Shorter College Student Jenica Reed Wins Scholarship, Places in Top 10 in Miss Georgia Pageant

July 1 - Jenica Reed, crowned Miss Shorter College in March 2009, was awarded the Florida Harrell Scholarship for Performing Arts and placed in the top 10 during the recent Miss Georgia Pageant.

Reed, an upcoming senior vocal performance major at Shorter College, is a resident of Panama City, Fla. She is a member of Mu Phi Epsilon, Love Thread, the Shorter Chorale, Students National Association for Teachers of Singing and Black Tie Affair. In her free time, Reed enjoys singing, dancing, acting, participating in musical theater and opera, biking, running, knitting and camping. Reed was awarded a $2,000 scholarship as part of winning the Miss Shorter Crown.

As part of the Miss Georgia Pageant, Reed participated in evening wear, swimsuit and talent competitions.
