Shorter College Trustee Chairman Nelson Price to hold book signing at Rome Barnes & Noble

March 24 - A new historical novel by well-known author and minister Dr. Nelson Price offers fresh insights into the resurrection of Christ. The author, who also serves as chairman of the Shorter College Board of Trustees, will sign copies of his latest book, The Chronicles of Nicodemus, beginning at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, at Barnes and Noble in the Riverbend Center, 1442 Turner-McCall Blvd., Rome.

Price’s historical novel tells the biblical story of the resurrection through the eyes of Nicodemus, a Pharisee and member of the Sanhedrin who appears three times in the Gospel of John. The first is a night-time visit to Jesus to listen to his teachings (John 3:1-21); the second is when he states the law concerning the arrest of Jesus during the Feast of Tabernacles (John 7:45-51); and the last follows the Crucifixion, when he assists Joseph of Arimathea in preparing the corpse of Jesus for burial (John 19:39-42).

The book has been acclaimed as a timely book to read in the days leading up to Easter Sunday. Dr. J. Gerald Harris, editor of The Christian Index, wrote, “In his new book, The Chronicles of Nicodemus, author Nelson Price gives a fresh perspective on the resurrection of Christ. In this book, Nicodemus partners with Joseph of Arimathea and gives a first-person account of the resurrection. Price’s portrayal of history is not laborious, but fluent and picturesque. I actually felt like an eyewitness to what Nicodemus so artfully described.”

The Chronicles of Nicodemus is Price’s 17th book, and he has served as a columnist for the Marietta Daily Journal for more than 40 years. Named one of Georgia’s 100 most influential people by Georgia Trend magazine, Dr. Price has served as chairman of the national board of directors for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and as chairman of the Shorter College Board of Trustees. The Nelson Price Center for Urban Studies on the campus of the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and the Nelson Price Drug Rehabilitation Center in Marietta were both named in his honor. Dr. Price is pastor emeritus of Roswell Street Baptist Church in Marietta. He and his wife, Trudy, have two daughters.
