Rome resident Carol Atkins has joined the Human Resources Department at Shorter College.

Atkins, a Cedartown native, comes to Shorter from Rome City School’s Central Office, where she served as payroll manager.

A graduate of Shorter College, Atkins received a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Additionally, she was Shorter’s 2007 first honor graduate at the college’s December commencement. Atkins also attended Coosa Valley Technical College, where she was selected as a finalist for the Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership. She graduated from Cedartown High School as an honor graduate and was given the Scholastic Award for Leadership.

Atkins and her husband, Troy, have two children and one grandson.
