Shorter College’s Arnold Gallery to host exhibit by Reginald Laurent
Shorter College’s Arnold Gallery will host an exhibit of works by guest artist Reginald Laurent from Sept. 2 through Oct. 2. The exhibit titled “Inner Visions” is open to the public at no charge; gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Laurent will be on campus on Sept. 2 for a reception and artist’s lecture, which begins at 4 p.m. in the gallery.
A Chicago native, Laurent now lives and works in Atlanta. This artist’s colorful abstracts have won many awards and are in many public and private collections including that of Michael Jordan. Laurent’s detailed abstracts are a balanced menagerie of color and energy that utilizes every inch of the surface. His work is impossible to ignore and has the ability to draw the viewer into a world that is distinctly his.
The Laurent exhibit opens the Arnold Gallery’s 2008-09 season. For information on upcoming exhibits, visit www.shorter.edu/academics/arts/art_dept.htm.
