Carmichael to Serve as Director of Information Technology
Grant Carmichael has been named director of information technology at Shorter College, effective July 1. In this role, he will oversee the office of information technology, which provides support for faculty, staff and students in the areas of academic computing, administrative computing, training and support solutions.
Carmichael has been a member of Shorter’s staff since 2005, serving as systems engineer. In that role, he supported the advanced implementation of middleware infrastructure components and distributed computing services. He was also responsible for the development and management of enterprise directories, Linux servers and software applications. |

Carmichael holds a Bachelor of Science in information systems from Kennesaw State University. Additionally, he is in the process of completing a Master of Business Administration at Shorter. He is Net +, Security +, and Microsoft Professional certified.
Prior to joining the Shorter College staff, he worked in research and development information technology at Kennesaw State University.
Carmichael lives in Rome.
