Shorter Football to Hold Hawks Super Night on April 5 The Shorter College football booster club will be hosting the third annual Hawks Super Night at the Forum on April 5th at 6 p.m. The event will feature Big Tom Buchanan as the guest speaker and will also include a silent auction, catered dinner and live auction, featuring sports items, services, and gift certificates. The event is open to the public. Since returning from SURVIVOR: AFRICA, Tom Buchanan has become very involved with elementary schools, promoting reading literacy. Prompted by events on the show that shed light on his inability to spell, Tom created a reading program for kids, "Reading is The Key to Survival," which has had an enormous impact on young readers of today. He has also donated many hours of his time to local and national fundraisers. Born and raised in Rich Valley, Virginia, Tom currently works as a self-employed goat and cattle farmer on the farm that has been in his family for three generations. Tom and his wife, Sandy, have been married for 25 years and have one son, Bucky Bo, who is now a senior at Cumberland College in Williamsburg, Kentucky, where he has been an All-American football standout. There are three levels of entry into the event: corporate sponsorship ($1,200), table sponsor ($500), and individual tickets ($40). They can be purchased from Shorter College box office manager Karen Bush at (706) 233-7288. Click here for a printable flyer. Find out more about Hawks Boosters by visiting www.hawksbooster.com.
