Shorter College Hosts Art Exhibit by Jennifer Jenkins

The Arnold Art Gallery at Shorter College will host an exhibit of works by Jennifer Jenkins from Feb. 19 to March 20. The exhibit titled “Mechanisms: Not Known” begins with an artist lecture and reception at 4 p.m. on Feb. 19. The exhibit and opening reception are open to the public at no charge.

Jenkins’ current body of work consists of “large-scale two-dimensional abstract surfaces inspired by the chaotic dynamics of biological systems. Dense line work is built up through machine embroidery, printmaking and drawing with India ink on silk substrates.”

Jenkins holds a Master of Fine Arts in fibers from the Savannah College of Art and Design, where she is currently an adjunct professor of printmaking.
