Dr. Nelson Price, chairman of the Shorter College board of trustees, will serve as the Chaplain of the Day for the first day of the Georgia state Senate session on Monday, Jan. 14.

“It will be an honor to welcome Dr. Price to the Senate next week,” said Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle in a press release announcing the selection. “Many of us have heard him speak on the radio, and I am certain he will encourage and strengthen our effort to lead our state in the right direction.”

In addition to chairing Shorter’s Board of Trustees, Dr. Price currently serves as the interim pastor of First Baptist Church of Mableton. He is also pastor emeritus of Roswell Street Baptist Church in Marietta. The author of 16 books, he has served in various Southern Baptist Convention offices. Dr. Price is a graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
