Shorter College Chorale Performs at Spivey Hall

The Shorter College Chorale will perform at Spivey Hall on the Clayton State University campus on Friday, Nov. 30, at 8:15 p.m. Tickets are required and can be purchased by contacting the Spivey Hall Box Office at (678) 466-4200.

***NOTE: There will be a bus leaving from Shorter at 5:30 pm for those who wish to travel to Clayton State University. Please contact Martha Shaw at mshaw@shorter.edu or Jean Knighton at jknighton@shorter.edu to confirm your seat on the bus by Monday, November 26.

Conducted by Dr. Martha Shaw, the Chorale will perform choral compositions by Mathias, Ligeti and Lauridsen, as well as Christmas selections.

The Shorter Chorale, founded in 1968, is widely regarded as one of the finest collegiate choral ensembles in the southeastern United States. In October 2007, the Chorale released its first professionally produced CD, A Savior From On High. Earlier this fall, it was featured on the hour-long radio program “The Atlanta Music Scene” on WABE 90.1 FM, the National Public Radio affiliate in Atlanta. The Chorale will tour Italy in 2008.

The Chorale has been featured at the Georgia convention of the American Choral Directors Association, the Georgia Music Educators In-Service Conferences, and the Georgia National Association of Teachers of Singing convention. This exceptional choir continues its traditions of excellence with many guest appearances throughout the United States.
