Shorter College Student Artwork on Display at Arnold Gallery Beginning Nov. 6

Shorter College ’s Arnold Gallery will soon exhibit the best artwork students have created in studio coursework this semester. The art student exhibition, featuring work by Shorter’s art majors, will begin with an awards presentation and reception at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6. The exhibit, which is open to the public at no charge, will be displayed through Nov. 16.

The exhibit will include artwork in a variety of media including painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, photography and digital computer art. Prior to the opening of the exhibit, students submitted 105 pieces to be reviewed by juror George Thomason, chair of Shorter’s English department who is also an artist and interior designer. Mr. Thomason then selected 45 pieces of artwork that presented a strong visual balance between technical skill and creative expression.
