Shorter College's 2006 Homecoming football program won the best cover award in the Football Game Day Program category in the 2006-07 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) ­ Sports Information Directors Association Publication Contest. In addition, the homecoming program placed fifth overall and Shorter¹s basketball program placed seventh in the Combined Basketball Brochure category. The awards were presented on June 29 at the NAIA National Convention in San Diego, Calif.

Last season¹s Homecoming football program featured quarterback Alex Jackson on the cover, with an alumnus and the previous year's homecoming king and queen in the corners. Over 1,000 programs were distributed to alumni, students, parents and friends on Nov. 10, 2006, to commemorate Homecoming and Alumni Weekend at the last home football game of the season.

All of Shorter College¹s athletic publications are designed and produced by Grant Kersey, sports information director, and with the assistance of coaches in the athletic department.
