Football finishes with winning season

The Shorter College Hawks and Lady Hawks received mixed results this weekend as both men's and women's basketball, volleyball and football traveled to play tournament and season enders.

Football traveled to Jackson, Tenn., where they beat Lambuth University 13-6 to end their second season with a winning record of 6-5. Numerous turnovers for each team proved for several costly plays but the Hawks' defense was strong enough to pull through.

Lady Hawks volleyball competed in the SSAC tournament where they went 2-2, losing to Faulkner on Saturday, 2-3. They will compete in the Region XIII tournament next weekend.

Men's and women's basketball traveled to two different tournaments this weekend. The men lost a close battle against Cumberland College 86-94 on Friday while the Lady Hawks went 1-1, beating Covenant and losing to King.
