Volleyball finishes as runne-up in sSAC tourney

After a dramatic run through the Southern States Athletic Conference volleyball tournament, the No. 3-seeded Lady Hawks were named runner-up after a stunning upset victory over the No. 1-seeded and regular conference champions Berry College. Shorter advanced to the championship game for a second season in a row.

Several Lady Hawks received year-end recognition: Kasi Runion and Ashlie Stewartson on the All-Conference team, and most impressively, the SSAC Setter of the Year was Kristy Walker.

"We started out the season a little rougher than I think any of us hoped, but we persevered and came out with strong performances in the end," said Head Coach Jon Moseley. "Everyone on this team will have some special memories of the tournament."
