Trustee chairman selected to serve as Chaplain of the Day for state Senate
Shorter College Trustee Chairman Dr. Nelson Price was selected to serve as Chaplain of the Day for the first day of the 2008 session in the Georgia State Senate.
In making the announcement, Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle said, “It will be an honor to welcome Dr. Price to the Senate. Many of us have heard him speak on the radio, and I am certain he will encourage and strengthen our effort to lead our state in the right direction.” |

As Chaplain of the Day, Dr. Price opened the Jan. 14, 2008, session with a devotional and prayer. Mr. Cagle added that this tradition of the Senate “sets our minds and hearts toward things that matter as we make important policy decisions that affect the lives of Georgians.”
In addition to his leadership of Shorter’s Board of Trustees, Dr. Price serves as interim pastor of First Baptist Church of Mableton. He is pastor emeritus of Roswell Street Baptist Church in Marietta.
