Training Calendar

When it comes to learning about the various technology tools at your disposal, OIT has been working extremely hard to develop training materials. Of course we offer group training and one-on-one sessions, but if you find that it is just too hard to schedule a synchronous training session, we also offer videos and documentation on various topics.

We have begun developing short, instructional training videos that cover a wide range of topics.

Subjects include:

Moodle for Instructors and students, How to Activate Shorter ID; How to login to Email among others. These videos are also now available on youtube! Please visit Shorter's Training Channel on youtube at http://www.youtube.com and enter shortertrain30165 in the search field. Better yet - subscribe to this channel to stay up to date on new videos as they are posted! We welcome any suggestions for topics.

In addition to training videos, Shorter offers many training sessions throughout the year. A wide range of topics relating to Moodle will be available as well as general subjects in MS Office. For the FALL 2012, we currently have these topics available:

September 2012

• Moodle: using web links, youtube videos and pictures to make your course more creative.
  
  
• EXCEL: Learn how to create a simple spreadsheet that is useful for keeping student grades and office budgets.
  

October

• Moodle: How to adjust for Extra Credit and those odd grade entries.
  
  
• PowerPoint: How to insert audio and video in your presentation.

November

• Moodle: Adding RSS Feeds and embedding videos for your course.
  
  
• WORD: How to create a document with page numbers and a Table of Contents.
