DRUG / ALCOHOL-FREE WORKPLACE
Statement of Certification
The unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensing, possession or use of a controlled substance or alcoholic beverages is prohibited at Shorter University. Further, employees working on federal grants and contracts covered by the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988, as a condition of their work, must obey the prohibition and notify the college within five days of any criminal drug statue conviction for a violation occurring in the workplace.
Violations of Shorter's drug/alcohol abuse policy may be considered just cause for termination of employment.
The Health Services Office provides drug/alcohol prevention and treatment information for students, faculty and staff.
