December 2009

Merry Christmas!

The Shorter College family wishes you a joyous Christmas season and a wonderful beginning for 2010. The college will close for Christmas break on Dec. 18. Offices will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 4.

Welcome to the Shorter family

More than 500 students received a hard-earned early Christmas present this year – a Shorter College diploma. December commencement exercises were held Saturday, Dec. 12 inside the Winthrop-King Center. Speaking during the ceremony was Major General Douglas L. Carver, a Rome native who serves as Chief of Chaplains of the United States Army.

Mudy wins NAIA Cross Country national championship

In sports, nothing is ever guaranteed. With that being said, Shorter College harrier Justyna Mudy may be the closest one can come to a sure thing. The diminutive, redshirt sophomore from Poland added to her already impressive resume by capturing the medalist honors at the 2009 NAIA Cross Country National Championships presented by Nike at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, Wash. This is his second national title in two years.

Repeat: Cooley and Lollis named offensive, defensive players of the year again
